Do I need to file Form 1120-S if my S Corp had no activity?

Yes. An S Corporation that had no revenue or activity during the year still needs to file a nil return. The IRS requires the filing regardless of whether the company was active. Skipping it results in the same failure-to-file penalty as skipping a return for an active company.

Check your EIN confirmation letter (CP 575) first. If that is gone, look at a previously filed tax return, a business bank account application, or any 1099 you have issued. Your bank or your payroll provider will also have it on file.
