How to connect Inkle to ChatGPT

Inkle is now available on the ChatGPT app directory. Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT questions about your tax filings, financial reports, invoices, and vendor bills and get live answers from your actual Inkle account.

Note: This connector is read-only. It can retrieve your data but cannot make changes to your Inkle account. For actions like uploading documents, approving filings, or making payments, use the Inkle platform directly.

Things you can instantly ask:

  • "What's the status of my 1120?"
  • "Which invoices are overdue and what's the total?"
  • "Give me a P&L summary for Q1 2026."
  • "Who are my top vendors by spend?"
  • "What bills do I have outstanding?"
  • "What entities do I have on Inkle?"

What you can access

The connector gives ChatGPT access to the following data from your Inkle account:

  • Tax filings: Check filing status, upcoming deadlines, pending payments, and action items for forms like 1120, 5472, 7004, and 1065.
  • Financial reports: Pull your Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement for any time period, in Cash or Accrual method.
  • Invoice tracking: See all customer invoices — due, overdue, and paid, with amounts and dates.
  • Vendor bills: Track bills from vendors and suppliers, including what's owed and when it's due.
  • Customer summaries: Get a financial summary per customer: total invoiced, amount paid, and outstanding balance.
  • Vendor list: View your full vendor list with total spend and transaction counts.
  • Multi-entity: If you have more than one company on Inkle, you can switch between entities.

How to connect

Inkle is listed on the ChatGPT App Directory, so connecting is quick. Follow these steps:

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to More → Apps. This opens the ChatGPT App Directory.
  2. Search for "Inkle" in the search bar.
  3. Click Connect and select "Sign in with Inkle".
  4. You'll be redirected to the Inkle login page to authenticate.
  5. Done! Head back to ChatGPT, start a new chat and ask a question about your finances.

Note: You only need to connect once. ChatGPT will remember the connection for future sessions.

Security & Privacy

Your data security is a priority. Here's how the connector protects your information:

  • OAuth 2.0 secured: your credentials are never exposed to ChatGPT
  • Read-only access: the connector cannot make any changes to your Inkle account
  • Account-scoped: only data from your authenticated Inkle account is accessible
  • Disconnect anytime: go to Settings → Connectors in Inkle to revoke access

Note: No data from other Inkle accounts is ever accessible through your connection.

FAQs

I connected the Inkle connector but ChatGPT says it can't find my data.

This usually means the connection needs a refresh. Go to your ChatGPT settings, find the Inkle connector, and click the refresh or reconnect option. Then start a fresh chat and try again. If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect completely.

I'm being asked to log in every time I use the connector.

Once connected, you should stay authenticated. If this keeps happening, disconnect the connector completely and reconnect it. Complete the OAuth login once, and it should persist going forward.

The financial data looks outdated. Why?

The connector pulls live data from your Inkle account at the moment of each query. If data looks stale, check whether your bank accounts are actively syncing inside your Inkle dashboard. Fix any sync errors in Inkle first, then query again.

ChatGPT says it doesn't have access to something I'm asking about.

The connector covers tax filings, financial reports, invoices, bills, customers, and vendors. It does not cover payroll, internal documents, or support chat history. For anything outside this scope, please check your Inkle dashboard directly.

Will disconnecting affect my Inkle account?

Disconnecting the connector only removes ChatGPT's access to your data. Your Inkle account, filings, bookkeeping, and all data remain completely unaffected. You can reconnect at any time.
