Delighted to announce Inkle's first acquisition: Inkle has acquired finally's bookkeeping division (customers, team and assets).

Combined, we now serve thousands of US companies; our revenue is many times our historical funding (we raised a $1.5mm preseed funding round 3 years ago), and we’re growing fast - at double the margin of traditional accounting firms. The acquisition was all cash, adds significantly to our profitability, and earns us a place in the top 500 US CPA firm by revenue (top 1% of the ~50k firms).

In just 4 years since Ranvir Singh and I founded Inkle, we're becoming the most trusted brand/platform in US small business tax and accounting. This is what the accounting firm of the future looks like: experienced/licensed professionals and a product engineering team building a profitable AI company, disguised as a services firm, operating at SaaS-like margins. A warm welcome to the dozens of Finally team members who've joined Inkle in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, US and Puerto Rico. For customers: you will continue to work with the same professionals, now on Inkle's platform. The acquisition significantly strengthens our coverage with 24-hour global “follow the sun” delivery teams in the Americas and Asia, and access to a wide array of new services.

Inkle grew up serving Silicon Valley's venture-backed startups, whereas Finally served America’s traditional small businesses. This transaction catapults us towards serving the 36mm owner-operator businesses, professional services firms, contractors, clinics, restaurants and more that form the bulk of America’s employer base and powerhouse economy. With rising costs, a complex environment and falling US accountant population, they need the most help. Inkle is ready.

For me personally, this is a poignant moment. Finally has been a trailblazer in this space: they built an incredible machine, helped thousands of companies, and raised hundreds of millions of dollars of funding to go after an industry ripe for disruption. I was deeply inspired by their founders, team, investors, product, customer-base and brand. Honoured to carry this work forward.
