Inkle Mailroom gives your US company two things every entity needs: a registered agent in the states where you're incorporated, and a real US mailing address where your official post is received, scanned, and made available to you online.

What is Inkle Mailroom?

Inkle Mailroom bundles two related services:

• Registered agent. A person or company with a physical address in a state, authorised to receive legal notices and government correspondence for your company. Inkle provides this in Delaware and across all 50 states.
• Virtual mailing address. A real street address (currently Delaware only) where your general business mail is received. Mail is scanned and uploaded to your Inkle dashboard, and you decide what happens to each item.

The two are separate services and they do different jobs. Your registered agent address handles state and legal correspondence. Your mailing address handles everything else: IRS letters, bank statements, EIN confirmation, vendor post.

Why does my company need both a registered agent and a virtual mailing address?

Every state where you're incorporated or registered to do business requires a registered agent with a physical address in that state. That's a statutory requirement, and it applies whether your team is in Bengaluru, London, or San Francisco.

A mailing address is a separate matter. Your registered agent's address is not a general business mailing address, and using it as one means mail can be returned or missed. The IRS in particular corresponds almost entirely by physical post, so having a stable address you actually monitor is what keeps you in the loop.

Two things to know:

• A registered agent can be taken on its own, in any US state.
• Virtual Mailroom requires an active Delaware registered agent subscription alongside it. If you don't have one yet, Inkle adds both to your cart together so you can set them up in one go.

How do I set it up?

Setup is self-serve inside the Inkle Mailroom dashboard. Which path you take depends on whether you already have a Delaware registered agent with Inkle.

Starting with Virtual Mailroom

1. Open Inkle Mailroom. From Home, select Get started under Inkle Mailroom.

2. Review the details. The Virtual Mailroom panel confirms the Delaware address and the $15/month subscription cost.

3. Add both products to your cart. Because Virtual Mailroom runs alongside an active Delaware registered agent, the panel gives you Add Mailroom & Registered Agent to cart, which bundles the registered agent ($60/year) with your mailroom subscription.
